The Swiss newspaper Le Matin has published a two-pages story about our project to support the Lampedusa clinic, in its April 29th issue. The article focuses on the turtle’s role as jellyfish regulator in the Mediterranean.

But these marine reptiles often fall victims to fishing gear. The Italian biologist Daniela Freggi founded a clinic in order to admit and save the wounded turtles through cutting-edge surgical techniques.

The Octopus Foundation supports this project in order to save these turtles and to expand our knowledge on these fascinating marine animals. “Usually, we are better at protecting species that we understand” says Julien Pfyffer.
