The story takes the reader on a journey between Greece, France and Italy to try to better understand the state of knowledge on this extraordinary marine reptile. The path ends on the island of Lampedusa where the biologist <a href=\"https:\/\/octopusfoundation.org\/en\/project\/sea-turtle-lampedusa-clinic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daniela Freggi<\/a> and her army of volunteers save every year hundreds of turtles accidentally caught by fishermen.<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/octopusfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Page-type-BD-Tortues.jpg\" rel=\"\" data-lightbox=\"1094933763\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5675\" src=\"http:\/\/octopusfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Page-type-BD-Tortues.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"904\" height=\"1257\" srcset=\"https:\/\/octopusfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Page-type-BD-Tortues.jpg 904w, https:\/\/octopusfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Page-type-BD-Tortues-216x300.jpg 216w, https:\/\/octopusfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Page-type-BD-Tortues-777x1080.jpg 777w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 904px) 100vw, 904px\" \/><\/a>\n<p>At the moment, the book has only been printed in Italian, because we wanted a significant part of the revenues to directly benefit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lampedusaturtlerescue.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lampedusa Turtle Rescue<\/a>. For the lucky ones (who speak Italian), it will soon be possible to order a copy on the rescue centre&#8217;s website.
