Various commissions by <em>Time Magazine<\/em>, <em>Paris Match<\/em> and <em>Le Figaro Magazine<\/em> have made\u00a0him aware\u00a0of the impact the media has on the public. Numerous sailing and diving expeditions, which he initiated and managed, have highlighted how little information on the marine environment there is in the public domain. Through the Octopus Foundation, he has decided to dedicate his time and resources to improving universal understanding and knowledge of the marine world.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"symple-divider solid \" style=\"margin-top: 20px;margin-bottom: 20px;\" \/>\n<h1>Projects &#8211; 4 stages to support science<\/h1>\n<div class=\"gray-col\">\n<div class=\"col-xs-12 col-sm-6 col-md-3\">\n<div class=\"gray-content\">\n<div class=\"number num-1\"><\/div>\n<h3>Introduction<\/h3>\n<p>A small team of the Foundation performs initial investigation, making contacts and gathering documentation to define the framework of the project to be supported and its interest from both a scientific and a media point of view. Out of the documentation process a dossier is presented to the Foundation&#8217;s board.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-xs-12 col-sm-6 col-md-3\">\n<div class=\"gray-content\">\n<div class=\"number num-2\"><\/div>\n<h3>Documentation<\/h3>\n<p>Once a\u00a0project is selected by the Foundation&#8217;s board, the budgets are approved. The Foundation\u2019s operational team then carries out a full\u00a0documentation of the study case (photos, sketches, drawings, maps, underwater 3D imaging, aerial imagery, etc.) that should facilitate the scientific study to come.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-xs-12 col-sm-6 col-md-3\">\n<div class=\"gray-content\">\n<div class=\"number num-3\"><\/div>\n<h3>Science<\/h3>\n<p>The project in its scientific phase (under the direction\u00a0of a scientific research organization), a small team from the Foundation supports the scientists with logistics and media (photos, texts, videos, etc.) for a broad diffusion of the discoveries.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-xs-12 col-sm-6 col-md-3\">\n<div class=\"gray-content\">\n<div class=\"number num-4\"><\/div>\n<h3>Media<\/h3>\n<p>The Foundation eventually studies the best broadcasting\u00a0channels to inform the public. It may be press articles, video documentaries, exhibitions or conferences.
